according to this alliance,the indian rulers were not supposed to keep their independent armed forces as they were protected by the English east india company.however,they had to pay for the armed forces kept by the company. if the Indian rulers Failed to make the payment,then part of their territory was taken away as a penalty.because of it many rulers did not have more money for payment then British taken the territory and expand.
