friction also generates heat when u use brakes, if we use brakes too hard the rubber might melt
and also that we need to use allot of energy to overcome the force of friction

Hey!

When we ride a bicycle we use the energy to overcome the friction between the moving parts of the bicycle as well as the friction with the air. As we push our way through the air, a frictional force called air resistance opposes our movement. The faster we move, the greater I'd the resistance, until a point when all our energy us used ti overcome the resistance. We cannot speed up beyond this point. Thus friction wastes energy too.

Troublesome friction

<> Air resistance waste energy

<> Friction between moving parts wastes energy, causes wearing down

Helpful friction

<> Helps us sit in the saddle

<> Helps us grip the handlebar

<> Helps us apply brakes

<> Keeps our feet on the pedals

<> Helps the cycle move

Hope this helps...
