the union government takes care of the union territories. union territories are under the direct control of the union government. The Union Territories are administered by the President through an administrator, who is appointed by him with a duitable designation. there are seven union territories in India namely :

Andaman and Nicobar Islands,Chandigarh,Dadra and Nagar Haveli,Daman and Diu,Delhi (National Capital Territory of Delhi),Lakshadweep,Puducherry.
