The land plants take gaseous from the carbon dioxide which enters the leaf through the stomata present on the epidermal layer . The stomata are minute pores guarded by two kidney shaped guard cells . The guard cells regulate opening and closing of stomata. The aquatic plants take dissolved from the CO2 through the general surface of plant body. it has been estimated that CO2 concentration in ocean water is more 50 times more as compared to atmosphere . in Submerged aquatic plants the stomata are absent and absorption of water mineral and gases occur through the general surface of plants.

the complete process of photosynthesis occurs inside the chloroplast and the raw material needed for the process CO2 and H2O. the pigment chlorophyll present in the chloroplast absorbs visible light and after absorption creates such condition that water breaks into hydrogen protons ( H+ ) , electrons ( E-) , and evolve molecular oxygen ( O2 ).
this is called photolysis. thus , the photolysis of water is the first step of photosynthesis in which molecular O2 is evolved. this O2 goes into the atmosphere....
