The himalayan mountain range have formed as a result of the collision between the indian plate and eurasian plate which began 50 million years ago and continues today.As a result of this collision the sedimentary rocks which were settled in the large scale depression in the earth's crust called the TETHYS were folded and the himalayas were formed.
