Answer:

Launcelot left the service of Shylock because Shylock did not give sufficient food to him. According to Launcelot, If he would stay with the Jew any longer he himself would become a Jew. It is only because of cruel nature of Shylock that he left his service and joined Bassanio.

Launcelot states that Shylock does not feed him properly since he is famished and has grown so thin that his ribs are as clearly discernible as his fingers. He wishes to be in Bassanio's service because he will provide him with 'rare new liveries.

He wanted to run away as he referred shylock as devil cause of his greedy cruel behaviour. He has no morals and high points of forgiveness and mercy.

Launcelot uses high-sounding words in his conversation with Gobbo (his father) to impress him that he possesses classical learning and is a gentleman. Shakespeare wants to convey to the audience that habit of some vain people of his time who pretended to be what were not.

He wants to take up a job with Bassanio because he thinks that if he serves Bassanio, he will have the privilege of having new liveries, as Bassanio offers new liveries to his sevants. Moreover, he says that Bassanio is a good man and has the grace of God.

Bassanio is the new master of Launcelot. Lancelot prefers to serve the new master(Bassanio) than the old one(Shylock) as he thinks that bassanio would treat him better than shylock. He also said that if he were to servea the cruel Jew (Shylock) any longer , he will also become a Jew like him.
