September 21, 1792 – Monarchy abolished in France. In Revolutionary France, the Legislative Assembly votes toabolish the monarchy and establish the First Republic. The measure came one year after King Louis XVI reluctantly approved a new constitution that stripped him of much of his power.

The 1789 food crisis in France led to the French revolution as the economy was in deep threat and the king then Louis XVI was not able to control it.
Both, the king and his wife were put in prison in August 1792 and then in September, moarchy was abolished and a constitution was framed which took away most of the powers from the king, declaring France a Republic.
