The Constitution is the supreme document. which not only embodies the values, ideals , values and aspirations of society it also includes the institutional structure based on those values that determine the political system of a country. It includes the type of government, the structure of government, its composition etc.
For example, the institutional structure of our country would include the following:
a. Parliament, being an elected body is the symbol of democracy and is reflective of the will of the people
b. Executive which includes both political and permanent executive, it includes the office of the president, Prime Minister , Council of Ministers , all these are elected representatives who are to guard the spirit of the constitution and to work within its preview.,
c. An independent Judiciary which is the supreme guardian of people rights and is so designed so as to give justice in a fair and impartial manner. Judicial structure
d. Procedure for setting up government by means of elections is also laid down, it also provides for an election commission tasked with conduction free and fair elections in India, and to provide fair chance to all parties to win and loose.
