The importance of monsoon in South and South East Asia are:
- The Asian monsoon is one of the most vigorous climatic changes on Earth and it is also socially important.
- The monsoon brings seasonal rain storms which water the crops.
- The South, as well as the South East Asian countries, are rich in agriculture mainly rice cultivation which needs lots of water during irrigation.
- The south and Southeast Asian countries receive rain for a long period of time, they depend on the summer monsoon.
- Many of these Asian countries do not have a developed irrigation system they are solely dependent on rainwater during monsoon.
- But these South and South East Asian regions are also often destroyed due to monsoon-brought storms called cyclones which cause a loss of economy along the coastal areas.
