The Bhotiyas were pastoralists. They moved from one place to the other in search of good pastures. 1. They moved according to seasonal changes as they needed pasture lands for feeding their cattle. So seasons affected their movements.

2. They made use of the pastures available according to the seasonal conditions.

3. When the pasture land in one place was exhausted they moved to new a new area for grazing their cattle.
