Here is ur answer buddy..

Explanation:

To test a leaf for starch,place the leaf in dark for 24-48 hrs in order to destarch it.

Then boil the leaf in methylated spirit or alcohol to remove chlorophyll(colour giving pigment).Now put a drop of iodine solution on it .If it turns blue black it contains starch otherwise not.

the presence of starch in leaves can be tested by iodine test. when we remove chlorophyll from leaf by boiling eaten alcohol and then put two drops of iodine solution its colour change to blue indicates the presence of strach
