The development and cutting of teeth is referred to as dentition. It is the character of a set of teeth especially with regard to their number, kind and arrangement.

Sayatae: 1) heterodont which means teeth funtion differently like we hvae canines , molars , premolars , incisors
Sayatae: 2) we have diphydont where if we see in humans we have milk teeth n permanent teeth , milk teeths are replaced by permanent teeths n these milk teeths dont have premolars

The human teeth function to mechanically break down items of food by cutting and crushing them in preparation for swallowling and digesting. human have four types of teeth:molars, premolars ,incisors and canines each with specific function.
