Shiromani Akali Dal is a prime political party of Punjab, which mainly represents the Sikhs of India.
Ideologically, it is supposed to look after the interests and demands of the common Sikhs.
It also controls some religious bodies of the Sikh religion, like Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee and Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee.
