Character sketch of Mrs. Van daan:
• Mrs. Van Daan is a spoiled woman who anticipates everyone to behave as she does.
• She particularly does not like Anne due to Anne being a very frank person.
• Mrs. Van Daan feels that children should not express their feelings on any subject, because they do not have the proficiency to draw upon that adults do.

Character sketch of Mrs. Van Daan.
Explanation:
- The Van Daans were in hiding with the Franks in the Secret Annex.
- Dated August 14, 1942, Anne mentioned that the Van Daans first arrived on July 13th.
- She seemed to care much about her appearance and possessions, for Anne mentioned that she arrived "carrying a hatbox with a large chamber pot inside".
- She also mentioned that the van Daans fight a lot, something which Anne hardly saw in her parents.
- She was envious of the birthday gift that Mrs. Frank got, while she did not seem to get anything on her own birthday.
- Mrs. Van Daan also seems to care more about her material things for she refuses to sell her coats when they had run out of supplies.
