Answer:

The process of opening a Savings Bank Account is very sample. GO to the bank and ask the clerk on duty at the Savings Account Counter to give you a prescribed and printed form for opening an account. You must take with you two photos and your identity card. You are required to enter your name and address in it. You can give the name of the nominee. You have to put your signature at two or three places on it. This is termed as your specimen signature. The account can be opened in the name of an individual, single or jointly a minor with his guardian – father or mother. But the person concerned must be known to the bank or should be introduced through some account holder of the bank. Each applicant is required to sign a declaration to the effect that he or she had read and accepted the rules for the conduct of Savings Bank Deposit Account. After you have opened an account, you are given a Bank pass Book with your name, home address, and the account number is written on it. You can withdraw the amount by filing a withdrawal form. For more than one thousand rupees you can get a checkbook also.
