I like my paternal uncle very much. He is my father’s younger brother. My uncle has been a great source of support after we lost our father. He stays in New Zealand and comes to India once a year. However, I keep in touch with him very often through email and WhatsApp. I look forward to his visit to India every year. Whenever he comes, my uncle stays a few days with us. I too like to be with him as much as I can. Whenever I have any doubt or need any advice, I approach him. He is always ready to help me whenever he can.
My uncle was practising as an anesthetist in a hospital there. He retired lately and is keeping himself busy reading books. He also helps Aunty in the garden and assists the Church there with its charity work. My uncle has given me recommendations on some nice classics that I must try reading when I get time. When we were young, he used to get us a lot of gifts from New Zealand. I still have some of them safe.
The last time my uncle came to India was in December last year. He was here for a month. When he came, he helped me learn how to use my Kindle and also set right some problems I had on my laptop. He is fond of traveling and tells me all the adventures that he had during a trip. It is very interesting to listen to him narrate them. His narrations are so lively that at times I feel I am a part of the adventure myself. My uncle is always optimistic and cheers me up when I am in low spirits. Although I miss him when he goes back after vacation, our frequent emails to each other have reduced the gap considerably.
