Describe in brief about green manuring.

Green manure:- It is also known as cover crop grown to add nutrients in the soil. When any crop like Wheat, Bajra etc. are harvested, green manure crops usually leguminous plants are grown to increase the organic matter & nutrients in the soil. They are grown for a short period of time and then mulched by ploughing back into the soil. These green plants thus turn into green manure which helps in enriching the soil in nitrogen and phosphorous.

Some common examples of green manure are clover and soya beans, sun hemp etc.
