Take an empty glass tumbler. Put a piece of thick smooth card over its mouth. Put a coin on top of it. Now with your finger flick the card horizontally. The card will fly away and coin will drop into the glass. Coin was at rest and will remain at rest when the card will be flicked due to its state of inertia at rest.
