Describe in brief Lothar Meyer's classification of elements.

\large\purple{Answer}

◇ Lothar Meyer's plotted the physical properties such as atomic volume, melting point and boiling point against atomic weight and obtained a periodically repeated pattern.

◇ Lothar Meyer observed a change in length of that

repeating pattern.

◇ In 1868, Lothar Meyer had developed a table of the elements that closely resembles the modern

periodic table.

Meyer is best known for his part in the periodic classification of the elements. He noted, as J. A. R. Newlands did in England, that if the elements were arranged in the order of their atomic weights, they fell into groups of similar chemical and physical properties repeated at periodic intervals.
