- Peat :-
- Peat is 1st stage in process of Formation of coal.
- It get's oxidized to water & carbon dioxide.
- During the 1st step peat contains most of the water.
- Hence, Peat becomes brittle.
- Lignite :-
- Lignite is 2nd stage of Formation of coal.
- Here, it is Dark brown in colour.
- It contains most of the organic Compounds.
- Hence, Lignite becomes more harder than Peat.
- Bituminous Coal :-
- Bituminous coal is 3rd stage in formation of coal
- It contains abundant fuel.
- It's also used as Heat Energy source in Industries.
- Anthracite :-
- Anthracite is last step of formation of coal.
- It contains purest form of coal.
- It contains high pressure & huge reactivity.
- It is also termed as Pure form Of Coal.
