Explanation:

The zygote formed after fertilization in the fallopian tube is implanted in the uterus. It divides repeatedly to form a mass of cells known as an embryo. This embryo gets attached to the inner layer of the uterine cavity, i.e., endometrium. It thickens every month and is supplied with blood to nourish the embryo.

A zygote is actually the result of fertilization. A zygote cannot be formed without the fertilization of the egg cell by the sperm cell.

-A zygote continues to grow, with the help of the nutrients shared by its mother.

After fertilization at the ampulla of the fallopian tube, the zygote formed is implanted in its blastocyst stage in the endometrium of the uterus on 6th to 7th day after fertilization. Commonest site of implantation is along the posterior and anterior endometrial wall of the uterus.
