India's contact with the world have continued to the various ages but har relationships through the land route are much older than the maritime contacts .
These routs hanve contributed in the exchange of ideas and commodities.
Various passes across the Himalayas have provided gateways to many ancient travellers .
Due to India's unique position in Asia the ancient land route including the famous silk route passed through indian subcontinent.
Greek enriched the indian culture with their contribution in the field of architecture ,science etc. Islamic influence is clearly visible in the architectural styles of domes and minarets etc in India

2.She held an important position in the ancient world and had trade relations with many countries through different land routes like the silk trade route.
3.India had trade relations with countries like Cambodia, Java, Sumatra, Bali, Sri Lanka,Burma,Siam and many other countries.
4.During the reign of King Kanishka,Indian traders to expand their business more,started trading mainly with China, Afghanistan and some otherCentral Asian countries.
5.Medieval Indian traders  started having more close contact with foreign people such as the Arabs, the Turks, the Europeans,etc.
