India has a amazing tradition of education scene's ancient era. The ancient Gurukul system was the first type of school in the world. The Takshashila University is considered to be the world's first University. In the present, India has world's best institutions like IIT's, IIM'S, AIMS etc. Now to discuss with the indian education system let's start with the positive side
Positives
Right to education (RTE) India became one of the 135 countries to make education a fundamental right. The RTE Act makes education a fundamental right of every child between the age of 6 to 14.
25% reservation For creating a democratic and egalitarian society the government has made it mandatory for all private schools to provide 25% reservation of the total seats for the underprivileged and BPL children's.
Technology The use of internet technology has changed the face of education system in India. The use of various techno aids has made the interaction between Teachers and students very effective.
Introduction to international academies The introduction of international Universities and school in private sector has brought a significant change in the Education system.
Unlimited options Earlier the career options were limited, now the students have a vast field ahead of them to explore in any subject they feel.
Negatives
No skill based education There is no focus in the Indian education system on skill based learning. Students still focus on cramming information and the best among them are rewarded by the system.
No appreciation to creativity, research and innovation Memorising the acedamics only is no learning. Creativity, original thinking, research and innovation deserves highest acedamic accolades, but our Education system rearly rewards it.
Technology The government is pushing more and more on the use of technology in education. Due to the poorly planned use of technology, the day is not far when the human teachers will be replaced by robotic teachers. Books, pen, canvas and brushes will be replaced by smartphones, tablet's and software tools. Instead of school buildings there will be a special room in every home with robotic teachers and other equipment leading to the end of social life of future generations.
Lack of smart people to teach Teaching jobs are considered as safe, well-paying, risk free and low-pressure jobs and thus thousands of terrible teachers all over India are wasting valuable time of young children's everyday. We need leaders, entrepreneurs in teaching position, not salaried people trying to hold on there job's.
