In the medieval period, India has inland (Overland) and maritime( overseas) trade relation with foreign countries. Traders from Arabia, Turkey, Syria, and Europe traded with Indian merchant communities such as Baniyas and Boharas. Overland trade with Central and West Asia was mostly in the hands of Multanis.
