During the day the land gets hotter faster than the adjacent sea.The hot air above the land rises as hot air rises in air and cool air from sea blows in to take its place, thus forming sea breeze. This is why we feel comfortable at sea even though sun is at our head.
During the night the land loses its heat faster than the sea.The hot air above the sea rises as hot air rises in air and cool air from land blows in to take its place, thus forming land breeze. This is why we feel uncomfortable at sea even though there's no sun.
