Layers are domesticated hens which are primarily being used for laying high quality eggs with a good yolk quantity in it. They give both fertilised and unfertilised eggs depending upon the male companion (Cockerel) making it a fertilised one, if not,,then an unfertilised one which is then marketed for production (the BESTEST OF THE BEST LAYERS are White Leghorn and High line).

Broilers are some quick growing birds which are generally males but can also be females. They are incubated and grown for 6-8 weeks where the attain a specific weight somewhere between 1.5-2.2 kilograms. They are sold in a fresh or a frozen form or state after the dressing of course (White Plymouth rock and White cornish are some examples of Broilers)
