Heat zones are different zones of the earth. They can be recognized on the basis of the amount of heat received from the sun. There are three zones: Torrid Zone, the two Temperate Zones, and the two Frigid Zones. The Torrid Zone is very hot since the sun shines overhead on this zone. The Temperate Zones maintain a moderate climate, and the Frigid Zones are extremely cold.

This zone lies between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn and is also known as the . It receives more or less direct rays of the sun throughout the year so, it is the hottest zone of the earth.
There are two temperate zones — lies between the Tropic of Cancer and the Arctic Circle, while the lies between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Antarctic Circle. The temperate zones receive slanting rays of the sun. Thus, they are neither too hot nor too cold.
There are two frigid zones lies in north and in south. The lies between the Arctic Circle and the North Pole and the lies between the Antarctic Circle and the South Pole. These two zones receives extremely slanting rays of the sun and thus are very cold.
