Describe maria's stay and training in the US

Maria Sharapova had a hard time in US. Since her mother Yelena wasn't able to accompany her due to visa restrictions, she felt her absence for two years. Moreover, her father had to work till late so he could afford her training. She was also bullied by the older girls who would barge into the room way past her bedtime and force her to tidy up the room.

But if anything, that boosted her confidence in  the long run. She became more determined and focused on her goals. She worked hard and her efforts bore the fruit.
