!!!

1. the differential heating and cooling of land and water creates low pressure on landmass of india and high pressure on seas around.

2. shifting of ITCZ (inter tropic convergence zone) over the ganga plain.

3. presence of high pressure area in the east of madagascar also affects the indian monsoon because of it's position from  the indian ocean. it's about 20°S over the indian ocean.

4. changes in pressure conditions also affect indian monsoon. the periodic change in ocean is known as southern oscillation. if pressure differences were negative then there will be late monsoons.

5. during summer, the tibetan plateau gets intensely heated, which creates low pressure over the plateau at about 9km above sea level.

6. movement of westerly jet streams to the north of the himalayas and the presence of tropical easterly jet streams over the indian peninsula during summers.
