Modifications of Tap Roots for Storage of Food: Taproots of carrot, turnip and adventitiousroots of sweet potato, get swollen and store food. The secondaryroots remain thin. Hypocotyl, i.e. the embryonic region between cotyledons and radicle may also join the tap root in storing food
