Jawaharlal Nehru who was independent India’s first Prime Minister, formulated its Foreign Policy.
India’s Foreign Policy declared that, India will not be part of any imperialist, or other kind of wars. It condemned all imperialist wars and aggressions against nationalistic forces.
The Policy of Non-Alignment, was introduced during Nehru’s time. This policy stated that India will not enter into any kind of alliance with other countries, that could lead to conflict or war. It basically meant mutual respect for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
