Lansina Nona is a young women who lives all by herself. Yet, she is portrayed as a very bold character who does not hesitate to fight against the harsh elements of Nature for her survivial. In the story The River, she faces a tough challenge against the powerful ravaging river. In the end, the victory is hers. However, Lansina Nona meets a tragic end when she tries to save herself from a leopard.
