In the chapter 'My Childhood,' A P J Abdul Kalam says "In fact, I would say mine was a very secure childhood, both materially and emotionally." His childhood was secure materially as all the basic necessities of food, medicines and clothes were provided to him. Abdul Kalam describes his mother by saying that she was an ideal wife and a gentle lady. He learnt from his mother to be gentle and kind. She even used to feed a lot of outsiders every day.
