Doctrine of Paramountcy- introduced in India by British East India Company under Lord Hastings; under which the Company claimed that its authority is 'Paramount' or ' Supreme', hence its power was greater than that of Indian States.
Subsidiary Alliance- It was a policy started by the East India Company to conquer Indian territory without war. In this policy, the company made alliance with the Indian king and provide troops and soldiers to him at times of war on the condition the king couldn't keep his own army.
This arrangement was known as Subsidiary Alliance. Doctrine of Lapse- It was a policy of the British East India Company under which if the ruler of a princely state or territory under the paramountcy of the Company died without a natural heir, the state/territory would automatically be annexed to the British empire
