  • Polymorphism is defined as multiple times formation of single form of cell.
  • The lysosomes structure undergo this process, that is existence of a structure in more than one form, is an important feature of lysosomes.
  • The several other forms of lysosomes are primary, secondary lysosomes, residual bodies and autophagic components each undergoing the engulfing the foreign germs activity.  
  • Primary cells are initial form of cells. Hence, lysosomes undergoes polymorphism.

  • Secondary lysosome :-

primary lysosome + Phagosome

Phagosome( Foreign particals or food particles )

  • Residual lysosome :- having undigested materials .

  • Autophagic / Vacoular lysosome :- Many primary lysosome around dead or old organelles digest it by autolysis or autodigestion .
