Pinhole camera is based on the principle of image formation on a screen if light is allowed to pass through the opening of the camera. When an object is held in front of the hole of the camera, in a dark room with a beam of light falling on the object, a small inverted and real image of the object is seen on the screen. If the camera is moved forward towards the candle, decreasing the distance of the object from the camera, the size of the image increases. If the camera is moved backwards, increasing the distance of the object, the size of the image decreases.
