The origin of pulmonary arch in lizard is clearly visible from the ventral view of the heart. It arises from the right ventral side of the ventricle, that is from cavum pulmonale. It runs forward and soon divides into two right and left pulmonary arteries which curve backwards to carry venous blood into the Right and left lungs respectively.
