Answer:

A reflex action, is an involuntary and nearly instantaneous movement in response to a stimulus. A reflex is made possible by neural pathways called reflex arcs which can act on an impulse before that impulse reaches the brain.

They happen rapidly, you don't control them and the result is always the same. Most reflexes don't have to travel up to your brain to be processed, which is why they take place so quickly. A reflex action often involves a very simple nervous pathway called a reflex arc.

Reflex actions are generally involuntary responses with rapid actions, which are controlled by spinal cord.

The below mentioned are all innate reflex actions:

- Pulling your hand away from a hot object

- Blinking eyes when you see bright light

- Kicking when someone taps the tendon below your kneecap

- The other type of reflex include Autonomic reflexes

Def : The reflexes that go completely unnoticed because they don't involve a visible and sudden movement are called Autonomic reflexes.

Eg: Body functions such as digestion or blood pressure are all regulated by reflexes.

And hence,

They happen rapidly, you don't control them and the result is always the same for everyone.
