Right to freedom :

Consist of 6 freedoms :

  1. Right to speech and expression
  2. Right to assemble peacefully without any arms
  3. Right to form associations
  4. Right to move freely within the country
  5. Right to reside and settle any where in the country
  6. Right to take up any profession

Freedom of religion:

This right ensures that there is no state religion. Anyone can follow and preach any religion they want and can form Institutions for religious and charitable purposes.

There is no official religion for India. India does not promote any religion . But religious freedom is ensured by the Constitution.

Right to freedom of religion ensures the following.

  • Right to profess , practice and propagate any religion.
  • Freedom to establish and maintain institutions for religious and charitable purposes.
  • Right against taxation for promoting a particular religion.

At the same time , religious instructions in any educational institution wholly maintained by the state or receiving aid from the state is prohibited.
