In eyes of humans,there are two types of photoceptors:-
Rods and cones
Rods cells are the photoceptor cells present in the retina of the eye that can function in less intense light i.e.they are needed to see in low light.
Cones are the photoceptor cells present in the retina of the eye that can function in bright light. These are the cells responsible for the colourful vision present in human eyes.
