Following are the rules of marriages amongst some of the communities in India.

Endogamy:

In this rule of marriage, people believe in selecting their life partners within their own groups, from their own village, from their own caste. In the caste system, people prefer their own caste fellows for this selection i.e Brahmin prefers t marry with a Brahmin.

Exogamy:

In this rule of marriage, people believe in selecting their partners out of their caste, group etc. They thought that people from the same caste and group have blood relation so they cannot marry with each. They are siblings.

Marriage is seen by sociologists as an arrangement of parts of a man and a lady whose association has been given social authorize as a couple. The balance of the system requires a change between the two partners with the goal that the part establishment of one accomplice) relates to the part desires of the other.

Indologists view Hindu marriage as a sanskara, having three objects of dharma (satisfaction of religious obligations),, and Praja (reproduction). Marriage performed for dharma was called dharmik marriage, while one performed for sexual delight was viewed as adharmik marriage.
