Self pollination is done by the same plant but cross pollination also called hybradization can be done to take the advantages of both the crops in one crop or flower.

Self pollination -:: It is the transfer of pollen grains from the anther to stigma of the same flower or another flower (geitonogamy )borne by the same plant.
Cross pollination -:: In cross pollination, pollen grains from the anthers of a flower are transferred to the stigma of a flower borne on another plant (allogany) . It is method to bring about genetic recombinations and variations.
