In 1927 the British government appointed a seven man commission under the chairman ship of Sir John Simon to report about the extent to which the Act of 1919 . had worked out successfully.The people of India boycotted the commission because all of its member were Englishman and not a single Indian was represented in it . At lahore, a procession was taken out under the leadership of lala lajapat rai in which he was fatally wounded. However the commission toured the country and submitted it's report in which the dyarchy later on, it was on the basis of this report that the basis of report that the Act of 1935 was passed.
