Situations where FRICTION IS NEEDED BY HUMANS:

  • During walking, friction helps us to stand and walk properly. In absence of friction, we would have slipped and hypothetically move forever.

  • Friction helps our hands to pick up/hold objects. In absence of friction, they would have fallen from our hands.

Situations where FRICTION IS NOT USEFUL FOR HUMANS:

  • Due to friction in our skin, whenever we get electrocuted, the electricity experiences resistance and induces secondary burn injuries.
