Hey Folk
Here is your answer

.........SPINAL COARD............

spinal cord is the other major reason of CNS.
in an adult human being spinal cord is about 42 to 45 centimetre long and 2 centimetre thick. spinal cord is glistening white code which runs from the base of brain down through the backbone

a cross section of spinal cord reveals the only other protein, the "white matter" of the cord is white the inner protein is grey metre running vertically through the grey matter is central Canal filled with CNS. this Central Canal connect with the cavities (ventricle) of the brain which are also filled with this fluid.

the white matter consists chiefly of long myelinated nerve fibres running up to down the spinal cord delivering and receive the information to and from the brain. this way the spinal cord act as a link between the brain and the nerves the stretch throughout the body.

★★FUNCTION★★

spinal cord serve two main functions

#) first, it connects the peripheral neural system to the brain. formation reaching the spinal cord through sensory neurones may be transmitted up the code by means of interneurons. in the brain all the information can be compared and appropriate action is detected impulse leaving the brain travel back down the cord by way of other inter neurones and they leave the code in the motor neurones.

#) the second function of a spinal cord is to act as a minor coordinating centre itself simple reflex response like withdrawal reflex can take place through the sole action of spinal cord.

I hope this information will be helpful for you
