Answer:

Structure of epithelial tissue:

Epithelial tissue is composed of cells laid out in sheets with strong cell-to-cell attachments. These protein connections hold the cells together to form a tightly connected layer that is avascular but innervated in nature.

Location:

Epithelial tissues line the outer surfaces of organs and blood vessels throughout the body, as well as the inner surfaces of cavities in many internal organs. An example is the epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin.

Functions:

Functions of epithelial cells include secretion, selective absorption, protection, transcellular transport, and sensing.

epithelial tissue is the simplest tissue. it is the protective tissue of the animal body.

the cells of this tissue are tightly packed and they form a continuous sheet.

TYPES:

1. squamous epithelium: it protects the underline parts of the body by mechanical injury

2. cuboidal epithelium:it helps in absorption ,secretion and excretion

3.columnar epithelium : absorption and secretion

4.glandular epithelium : it screats  are it is a gland

5.ciliated epithelium : the rhythmic, concented beating of the cilia moves solid particles in one direction through the ducts.(tubes)
