The above diagram is a schematic sketch of a chromosome.

Answer :-

First of all, what are chromosomes?

Ans - Chromosomes are condensed Chromatins which contain D.N.A. and genetic informations of an organism.

Some parts of the chromosome are as follows :-

  • Tilomere - The Tilomere is made up of R.N.A. based enzymes. They are Guanine rich in nature and they prevent the shortening and sticking of Chromosomes.

  • Palicle - The Palicle is made up of protiens. It acts as a Protinaceous covering over the chromosome and protects it from external attacks.

  • Centromere - The Centromere is situated at the primary constriction. The position of the Centromere determines the type of the chromosome (i.e. Either "x" chromosome or "y" chromosome).

  • Kinetochore - The Kinetochore covers the Centromere and protects it from external attacks.

  • Satellite - The satellite is present as a spherical structure below the secondary constriction.
