Raja Raja Chola (985-1014AD) was the greatest rule of this dynasty .He first destroyed Chera ( the ruler of Kerala, south India ) navy at Trivendrum .Then captured Madura and subsequently defeated Sinhalese (Sri Lanka) king Mahendra V thus occupying northern Cylon
He built the Peruvudaiyar Koyil in Thanjavur which is regarded as one of the largest temple of Hindu.
He made the Brihadeshwara which is now the seventh largest temple in the world.
