In, Bengal, Dwarkanath Tagore made his fortune in the china trade. He turned to industrial investment, setting up six joint stock companies in 1830s and 1840s.
In Bombay, Parsis like Dinshaw petit and jamsetjee nusarwanjee Tata who built huge industrial empire in India accumulated there initial wealth from exports to China and raw cotton shipments to England.
