The Indian National Council was established on 28 December 1885 by A.O. Hume. Its primary objective was to enhance nation building by creating a national identify. It demanded for greater platform in the Government for the educated Indians to represent national interests.
During the initial phase, the Indian National Congress sat for various sessions and passed various resolutions and demands to the British Raj regarding Indian interests.
It provided a platform for different leaders from different regions to talk about their social, economic and political problems. The INC also founded the British Committee in London to further put pressure on the British Raj. It composed of various British sympathizers who supported India's national interests.
Basically during the initial phase of the INC, most of the activities were sitting for sessions and bringing all Indian citizens under one umbrella.
